  • Revisiting Clouds Over the Kuna Crest

Revisiting Clouds Over the Kuna Crest

As I was going through my archives I came across this one from a few years ago called Clouds Over the Kuna Crest. I’ve always liked it, but I thought I’d re-process it and leave it un-cropped this time. Hope you like them.

  • Moon Over Mt. Clark, Gray Peak and Mt. Starr King

Moon Over Mt. Clark, Gray Peak and Mt. Starr King

As I mentioned on my last entry, Gray Peak and the Moon, I had some issues with my 300mm lens. Once the moon was farther away, I switched to my 70-200 so I could capture Mt. Clark, Gray Peak and Mt. Starr King, and of course the moon.

    Gray Peak and the Moon

Nice to see a plan come together. A few years ago I was at Glacier Point at sunset. Unbenounced to me it was also a full moon. If you’d ever tried to photograph the full moon and see some details in the foreground elements, it’s near impossible. That evening it didn’t go so well. Fast-forward […]

Mount Dana and Gibbs in Black in White

Last week as I was on the BACKPACKER Magazine Forum somebody started a “Show Us Your Reflections”. Going through my archives I came across several, including a color version that I posted in 2009, A Day in Yosemite. Thought I’d re-process it and convert it to a black and white.

  • Scale 1964 Plymouth Belvedere

    Scale 1964 Plymouth Belvedere

I was going through my WordPress Media Library a few days ago and came across a few photos that I uploaded but never posted. Rather than deleting them, I thought I’d post these. I built this back in the late 70’s to early 80’s. The car is a 1/24-scale 1964 Plymouth Belvedere by Jo-Han. The […]

  • Lightning at Sunset

    Lightning at Sunset

Our family took a trip recently to Texas. My in-laws took their RV and since we were only going part way to Texas, we rented a car. On this particular evening we were staying at the Santa Rosa Campground & RV Park in New Mexico. We were eating dinner and occasionally we could see lightning. […]

  • Mammoth Peak with Snow

    Mammoth Peak with Snow

I missed getting up to the high country last year, so when Tioga Pass opened up I made sure I was there. Took me a few weeks to get up there, but thankfully there was still plenty of snow and ice there. My normal plan is to get up around 1am and photograph sunrise and […]

  • First Visit of the Year

    First Visit of the Year

I’ve been wanting to visit “That Place with Water and Birds” since the first of the year, but up until now, I haven’t been able to. Since my wife had the day off and the kids have a 4-day weekend, I thought I’d drive over and see what’s happening. There was A LOT of fog […]

  • My Favorite Photos from 2015

    My Favorite Photos from 2015

It’s that time of year where I try to pick my favorite pictures from 2015. Just like last year, it wasn’t a stellar year, photography-wise. Always hope that 2016 will be a better year, photography-wise. So in the order that I took them (more or less), I present you my favorite 10 pictures of 2015.
